Celebrate!

So last Thursday, we had a parade and then a 30 minute ceremony downtown to honor our local celebrities: the Herbert Brothers! Who you say? How about the guys who beat out Madison Avenue Ad companies and scored the number one Super Bowl commercial!

Snow more snow

Last week we received about 4 inches of snow followed by an inch of ice pellets then another 8 inches of snow in a 24 hour time frame. It has slowing been melting but only into a homogeneous sheet of 4 inches of ice. It has now snowed another 3 inches of very fluffy beautiful snow. I don't think Mom and I will be walking any time soon. This morning we drove over to the park and then skidded around the top of the reservoir for 40 minutes. Not something I want to repeat anytime soon.

Doritos anybody?

So did you like the number one commercial of the Super Bowl? You know, the one with the crystal ball and the snack machine? It beat out the Bud clysdales for the first time in 10 years. It also happens to be the brainchild of two local brothers and was filmed in our YMCA. The Herbert brothers knew they were in the top 5 finishers for this years Doritos contest as they were invited to Tampa to watch the Super Bowl with the other 4 producers. But only when their commercial played did they know they had won the $25k contest. After the Super Bowl was over and the tabulations were made, their commercial was voted the number one of the night earning the two brothers a cool $1 million.
