What was it? The answer
So on Sunday just before noon Kent was finishing up the clearing of the "slash" (the branches and small limbs of the tree debris) from the front yard so it wouldn't kill the grass. He came in the house hollering that a branch had fell on him. As I ran toward him, blood was streaming down his face. After leaning him over the sink and pouring water on his head, I gave him a clean hand towel, got my keys and said get in. After argueing with me for a few moments he got in and off to Urgent Care we went. An hour, and 6 stitches later we were on our way home. When we got home he showed me the branch and it was not very big as branches go. So my instinct to keep the kids in the house when the wind was blowing and a limb might come down was probably a good one! The doctor asked me if I wanted to see the wound beofre they stitiched it up. He lifted the "flap" caused by the half moon shape and it was pretty deep and really gross. It is healing well and the stitches come out in a week.
